Publix, 333 condos break ground in North Bay Village

Coral Gables-based Shoma Group broke ground on a mixed-use tower in North Bay Village that will feature waterfront condos, retail and a Publix market. Shoma Bay will rise 24 stories on the 2.8-acre site at 1850 79th Street Causeway, at the corner of East Treasure Drive. It will feature 333 condos, a 35,037-square-foot Publix and 15,628 square feet of retail/restaurants.

Doral food hall Shoma Bazaar welcomed two restaurant vendors this month. Mr. Pork Belly, a Latin American culinary concept by Peter Regalado and Stephanie De Quesada, opened on Jan. 9, and has a menu that offers maple cany bacon and chicharron. Food Joint Pizza, an Italian-inspired South Florida eatery led by Emil Fedorenko, opened on Jan. 10. Shoma Bazaar is at 9420 NW 41st St.
